The financial market collapse of the past few weeks has destroyed trillions of dollars in wealth. So where, exactly, did all that money go?
John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, turned toward a more negative tone, as the Obama campaign signaled it would respond in kind.

Not sure where you get your facts from and what news show and news organization you read or watch. But, it was the democrats that wanted this shoved through with Bush. It was a pretty decent amount of Republicans that did not want this through as it was written. That is why Barney Frank went ballistic in the initial meeting. There was a handful of democrats that also opposed the initial proposal as written. I agree with the handful of democrats and the large amount of Republicans, like Republican representative Boehner. This proposal still should not pass. There should not be limited compensation for CEO's getting let go or quitting. There should be zero compensation for the whole lot of them, and making it easier to prosecute the low lifes. I am a conservative, but disagree with most of these people on leaving their hands off of these businesses because of capitalism. Our congress and President are there to protect us. Which they have all done a poor job. Multi million dollar golden parachutes should not happen. Where else can you do a poor job and make tens of millions and in some cases hundreds of millions for doing a poor job. There is no way that the stockholders should have to foot the money.
